Review: I jumped on the bandwagon much too late for this one. After listening to my friends joke about the movies for months, I went and saw this in theaters two weeks ago. Initially I wasn’t all that excited about the film because musicals just don’t ever connect with me with the exception of Grease. However, I loved Pitch Perfect! The singing to me was fabulous! Again, Rebel Wilson stole the show with her incredible comedic talents. This girl is going places, I’m telling you. I’d say Pitch Perfect is the best comedy for teenage girls since Mean Girls. SPOILER ALERTBecause I am such an avid 80’s fan, it was such a wonderful to surprise to hear not only songs from the 80’s in the movie, but I was delighted to see how much the two main characters talked about The Breakfast Club. The best part of the entire thing is at the end with Kendrick is singing Don’t You Forget About Me the theme from The Breakfast Club for those of you who have lived under a rock throughout your childhood. When Astin does the fist pump, I fell in love with the movie. If a guy ever fist pumped while I was singing Don’t You Forget About Me then I’d probably marry him right there on the spot.

Review: While I was very eager to see Taken 2, I alsowas very skeptical of it because sequels never seem to live up to the hype of the original movie. Happily, I can see that althought Taken 2 isn’t as great at the first, it’s still a must see. There isn’t near as much action as the first and the movie seemed to go by in the blink of an eye. The thing that I appreciated so much more with this one is that Grace’s performance is so much more tolerable. This time around she has a bit more of an edge to her and doesn’t play the 17 going on 6 year old. Neeson and Janssen give excellent performances, as expected, which really pulls the whole movie together. The thing I really liked about this one is the great sense of family it had.

Review: After hearing my friends talk about this movie and quoting it for months, I finally watched 21 Jump Street last night. For not watching the TV show, I thought the movie was alright. It’s about Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum), two less than average cops going under cover to get the source of this new drug that kids in high school are using. The story and acting weren’t anything to brag about. I’m still not a big fan of Tatum’s acting skills, his looks make up for why I continue to watch his movies religiously though. Hill’s performance is typical, nothing to brag about. The best part about the movie SPOILER ALERT is actually when Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise actually make appearances as their original 21 Jump Street characters. I’d say it’s nothing worth running out there to spend lots of money on, but not necessarysomething I’d pass up either.
